Check out this article.
Nothing particularly new, but an informative summary of research on
"cognitive dissonance" - when misinformation is spread, and only
further reinforced when the correct facts are presented.

This is particularly true if you strongly believe in the subject. For
example, anti-Obama folk may think he is Muslim, which is false, but
showing factual evidence only strengthens this belief. If, however,
you are neutral on the subject, you are more likely to be believe the
facts. Not sure about how this effects the independent types, on the
fence, but it seems proper PR would polarize them...

this is bravenewfilms

the stuff individuals make, like "I think I love you" exists, but is not
nearly as widespread as those done by more organized productions outfits
such as bravenewfilms, red state update, and so on. the number of
videos produced for obama dwarfs those for mccain - this may reflect
the age group which is polarized toward obama. the folks at illuminati,
i must say, look young and pack a mean punch - they look to be of the
young christian breed.

now, how many of these vids are being paid for by donations or
campaigns? i mean, we really can't tell...
